The last week has been an absolute blast. Each week just keep topping the next. First off, my blog title. On the elevator, on our way down to the mine in Wales Dr. Seely said very loudly "If I was in Hell, This is what it's like, Really." It was classic. Maybe it was just one of those moments you needed to be there.
WALES
We made our first stop at the BIG PIT. It was a working mine up until the 1970's when they turned it into a museum. At the start of the tour I thought it was a little bit sketch, but then again I was just reading about the miners in Chile the night before. That may or may not have been a contributing factor to secretly wanting to shed a little tear as the big metal cage creaked as it moved slowly under the mountain 2 miles.
We had to wear the whole giddup. The hard hat, 20 lb belt and head lamp. I pretty much felt really fashion savvy.
After the Mine, we went to Welsh World. Um. I really just said Welsh World. I will just leave it at that. Welsh World for LIFE!
Our next day we traveled to different LDS sites in Wales and Western England. Out last stop was the oldest LDS chapel in the world- Gatfield Elm. We had a musical program and sang hymns that the saints would have sung while attending church there. It was a very deeply moving experience, and it reassured me how grateful I am to be a member of the church, and even more so that I have the opportunity to have gone to the places where the early saints sacrificed their whole lives to come to America to strengthen the church. Even if I don't have any ancestors that joined the church in the UK, I still had sense of a connection with all the members who had been there and helped strengthen the church. They truly had a miraculous story.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Saturday I spent all day studying for my religion exam. By 5 o'clock I was done and Brianna came with me to treat myself to some good ole' American food. Chipotle! It was heavenly, although it did make me a little bit homesick for America. But then I just told my self, it's okay, I may be depressed, but at least I am depressed in London! (quote-Dr. Seely)
Our Halloween festivities consisted of a costume contest, a cookie decorating contest, donut eating, and of course a round of MAFIA (in character, naturally).

| Sara Palin & Mary Poppins |
I was so impressed with our creativity here! EVERY SINGLE person dressed up. Not many people bought things, but if they did, it was a quick, cheap run to PRIMARK. We had Sara Palin, Mary Poppins, Mt. Rushmore, Santa Clause, Pregnant Bella, Where's Waldo, T. Swift, Michael Jackson, BIG BEN, A Desperate Housewife, A paper bag Princess (she made it ALL by herself), Brittany Spears, and many, many others. Most definitely a successful night.
This beginning of this week has been rather slow, just paper writing and test studying. Although- tomorrow is our trip to Oxford. The president of HMS College at Oxford invited our group for tea. (herbal of course). It should be, lets say, an EPIC day.
